NURSING PROGRAM LAUNCHING IN RYBNIK THIS OCTOBER!

We Are Launching the Nursing Programme at the Rybnik Campus!

Recruitment will begin soon, and students will be able to start their studies in Rybnik as early as October 2024.

On 15 April, a press conference was held to announce the launch of the Nursing programme in Rybnik. The event was attended by the Mayor of Rybnik, Piotr Kuczera, Member of the European Parliament Łukasz Kohut, Deputy Minister Prof. Marek Gzik, Senator of the Republic of Poland Piotr Masłowski, as well as the authorities of the Academy of Silesia.

During the conference, Professor Andrzej Bochenek stated:
“Artificial intelligence may replace a doctor, but qualified nurses cannot be replaced. Educating this professional group is crucial, and I am pleased that it will take place in Rybnik.”

Dr Med. Sci. and Health Sci. Magdalena Wierzbik-Strońska, Vice-Rector of the Academy of Silesia, emphasized that Rybnik will become a city that develops the nursing sector and, in the near future, will attract specialists in allied health professions.
“We are currently preparing additional programmes that are also related to the field of medicine,” said the Vice-Rector.

Mayor Piotr Kuczera added:
“The efforts lasted for a year and a half, if not two years; for various reasons it did not work out earlier. Let us leave that behind and rejoice that we are able to present the Rybnik campus in a new form—one that will be highly beneficial for a city renowned for its healthcare services. Since the 19th century, we have been a city of hospitals, and all programmes related to nursing and medicine fit both the history and the future of our city.”
He also noted that the establishment of the Academy of Silesia branch in Rybnik was supported by the Edukatorium at Juliusz, which greatly impressed the university authorities.

We invite you to join us!
