We kindly inform you that scholarship decisions will be issued starting from Saturday, 20 December.

The decisions may be collected on the following days and at the following times:

  • Saturday – 20 December – at the Scholarship Office in Katowice, room A009, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Sunday – 21 December – at the Dean’s Office in Katowice, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Monday – 22 December – at the Scholarship Office in Katowice, room A009, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday – 23 December – at the Scholarship Office in Katowice, room A009, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Scholarship transfers will be made as follows:

  • Friday (19 December) – scholarship for October
  • Monday (22 December) – scholarship for November
  • Tuesday (23 December) – scholarship for December

The payment of the scholarship is made independently of the collection of the decision.

Due to the holiday break, decisions may also be collected between 7 and 31 January 2026 at the Scholarship Office during office hours.

FORMS OF SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT

RECTOR’S SCHOLARSHIP

Students applying for the Rector’s Scholarship for academic achievements must have completed all course credits and examinations at the first sitting (one failing grade is permitted). The grade point average is calculated by a Dean’s Office employee. In accordance with the Study Regulations, this is a weighted average.

SOCIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Income threshold entitling students to apply for financial aid:

  • For the academic year, the Rector has established the maximum monthly net income per family member entitling a student to apply for a social scholarship at PLN 1,908.90.
  • The basic document required when submitting an application for a social scholarship is a certificate from the Tax Office confirming income for the previous calendar year.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

The scholarship is awarded for the academic year for the period of validity of the disability certificate. If the certificate expires during the academic year, the student must submit a new valid certificate.

EMERGENCY GRANT

The emergency grant is available to students who, due to unforeseen circumstances, find themselves in a difficult financial situation.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS AND COLLECTION OF DECISIONS

Application period

Applications are accepted from 1 to 31 October for a given academic year.

Submission of applications

Original scholarship applications may be submitted in the following ways:

  • in person at the Dean’s Office in Zabrze or at branches of the Academy of Silesia,
  • in person at the Scholarship Office in Katowice, room A009 (during office hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and selected weekends),
  • via submission boxes located at Faculties or Branches,
  • by traditional mail to the university address in Katowice: 43 Rolna St., with the note “Scholarship Office”.

Issuing of decisions

Decisions (for all faculties) are collected at the university headquarters in Katowice – Student Accounting Office (Cashier’s Office / Bursary) – during office hours. Decisions must be collected in person, against acknowledgement of receipt.

The date of issuing decisions will be announced via the nDziekanat platform, usually in the second week of December of the given academic year.

The Scholarship Office is located at the university headquarters in Katowice, room A009.

The office is open on selected days and hours.

Office hours:

  • Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Selected Saturdays and Sundays: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

11 October, 25 October, 15 November, 20 December, 17 January, 14 February
