CIVIL ENGINEERING – FIRST-CYCLE STUDIES

Studia Budownictwa w woj. Śląskim, Katowice

EDUCATION LEVEL: first-cycle studies

EDUCATION PROFILE: practical

FORM OF STUDIES:

  • full-time studies
  • part-time studies

NUMBER OF SEMESTERS: 8 semesters

OBTAINED PROFESSIONAL TITLE: inżynier (BSc in Civil Engineering)

FIELD DESCRIPTION

Civil Engineering is one of the most rapidly developing fields in technical education. The programme prepares specialists to manage the construction of various types of civil engineering structures, participate in the design of public utility, industrial, and transportation buildings, organize the production of construction components, and supervise building works. Throughout the course of study, strong emphasis is placed on understanding the civil engineering standards and regulations in force across the European Union.

The programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to meet the high demands placed on modern engineers. Students become familiar with the materials and technologies used in civil engineering. They learn about basic building materials and their resistance properties, measuring instruments, principles of technical drawing, and legal regulations governing the design of roads, bridges, and buildings.
